In2Care® Mosquito Station: Practical Field Guide for Technicians

In2Care® Mosquito Station: Practical Field Guide for Technicians

Modern mosquito control is getting tougher. Customers want greener options, regulators expect reduced drift and responsible product use, and pest management professionals expect products to perform. Because of this, successful programs now need more than sprays alone — they need multiple tools working together. The In2Care® Mosquito Station helps fill that gap by using mosquito behavior to treat places technicians simply can’t find.

Why In2Care Works

Aedes species mosquitoes (like aegypti and albopictus) love small, hidden water sources — plant saucers, toys, gutters, tarps, clogged drains and leaf pockets. Even with great inspections, you’ll never find them all. The In2Care Mosquito Station uses a mosquito’s natural behavior to reach these cryptic sites.

The station looks and “feels” like the type of container a gravid female wants to lay eggs in. When she enters, she lands on treated gauze containing two actives:

  • Pyriproxyfen (PPF): A growth regulator that stops larvae from becoming adults.
  • Beauveria bassiana: A fungus that infects and shortens adult mosquito lifespan.

Particles stick to the mosquito naturally. She may lay eggs in the station (those larvae won’t turn into adults), but the real impact comes when she leaves. She spreads small batches of eggs across multiple water sites (called skip oviposition), carrying PPF with them. This “auto-dissemination” delivers larvicide into breeding sites you can’t access — turning them into long-term larval sinks.

What Techs Should Do in the Field
  • Triple-Action Formula: Combines an adulticide with two insect growth regulators to effectively control and affect the reproduction of pests such as mosquitoes, cockroaches, ants, fleas, and other listed pests.
  • Controlled Release Technology: Utilizes microencapsulation to provide both immediate and extended release of active ingredients, delivering fast knockdown and long-lasting residual control.
  • Versatile Application Sites: Approved for use in and around homes, commercial and industrial buildings, recreational areas, and ornamental landscapes.
  • Low Odor: Formulated to minimize odor, enhancing user and client comfort during and after application.
  • Effective Mosquito Control: Demonstrated efficacy in killing mosquitoes that land on treated vegetation for up to 30 days post-application, including species known to transmit diseases like West Nile virus and Zika virus.
Integrating With Other Tools

Pairing the In2Care Mosquito Station with Barricor® Essential Mosquito Control helps manage adult populations without harming pollinators. The In2Care Mosquito Station cuts off the next generation, while Barricor Essential Mosquito Control handles adults resting on shaded vegetation. Together, they strengthen an integrated, environmentally responsible mosquito program.
